Meet Your Coach
Hi, I’m Adam.
I’m a maternal-child health nurse, Infant Mental Health specialist, father of three, and founder of WonderBaby. But before any of that, I was just a kid who felt an instinctive pull toward caring for others, especially the tiniest among us. I remember being three years old, holding my baby sister, and thinking that there was nothing in this world that could be more miraculous than a baby. Here we are, decades later, and I still feel the same way.
My Path to This Work
My journey into maternal-child health began at home. My first child was born in 2008, in a peaceful home birth. I supported my then-wife through every moment of labor, and our midwives told me I had a knack for it. In nursing school, I had always felt drawn to labor and delivery. Being a man, I had serious hesitation about entering such a sacred feminine space, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was where I belonged.
Eventually I swallowed my fear and found my place. I spent eight years as a labor and delivery nurse in a downtown urban hospital. I was honored to help women feel seen and cared for during such a precious time. In 2019, I transitioned to a more family-friendly schedule as a nurse home visitor with Nurse-Family Partnership, supporting first-time parents through pregnancy and the first two years of their child’s life.
Along the way, I kept learning, specializing in the areas I felt most drawn to: infant mental health, trauma-informed care, car seat safety, and reflective listening.
My Life Now
In 2021, my personal life shifted dramatically when I came out as gay. It was a realization that was long overdue, and riddled with internal conflict. Thankfully my ex-wife and I were able to end our marriage with mutual care and respect. Today, we co-parent our three teenagers well, and we are both grateful for both the life we built together, and the new lives we are building now, separately.
This part of my story has deeply shaped the way I show up for others. I know what it means to feel lost inside a major life transition. I know what it’s like to doubt yourself and still move forward. And I’ve learned that even the darkest days have an expiration date.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
I don’t have a script; every session is a conversation. I aim to listen more than I talk. I’ll ask questions that help you find your own footing. If you need information, I’ve got it. If you just need someone to sit with you in the swirl of new parenthood, I’ll be right there.
Over the years, I’ve worked with thousands of families. But when I meet with you, it’s just us. No performance- just another human who happens to have clinical training and a lot of heart for this work.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for sticking with me. I hope this helped you feel a little more grounded in who I am. If it feels like we might be a good fit, I’d love to meet you.
